178th Commencement Exercises: A Salute to the Graduates

Published on February 26th, 2017 | by DLSU Sports

DLSU Sports salutes you for finishing your college journey!

After marching in their graduation at the PICC last February 24 & 25, we would like to give thanks to the nine student-athletes for the many years of bringing honor to DLSU.

In line with that, we have compiled messages from some of your teammates, coaches, and closest friends to cherish the end of another chapter in your life. As you read the letters that are now posted before you, we hope you remember that this is more than a news article or a feature article but rather a collection of personal messages from those whom you have spent most of your time with during your college stay.

You have prepared long and you have worked hard for this. Get ready to face the real challenges of the world as you leave our dear Alma Mater, Animo!

*The listed athletes are the ones known to graduate this February 2017 by the De La Salle University-Office of Sports Development. In the event that we miss some, we would just like to apologize.

YSABEL VITANGCOL

An ideal scenario of our weekdays together: a hearty meal of chicken joy accompanied by an intimate heart-to-heart convo on the way home from training. Those are one of the few things I already miss now that you have reached the finish line of your student life in DLSU. I hope you will never forget how a lot of people love you not just for your friendliness but for your strength; (physical and emotional) and your beauty inside and out. I will forever be proud of the person you have become because I not only see a future educator but a woman ready to conquer the world. I love you, Kating! Congratulations!

I know God has prepared new adventures for you ahead. Continue to inspire others and to brighten their days. I’ll always have your back. Love you, Kuy!

Gelo, thanks for being a great captain. Goodluck out there! Hope you make it out alive. xoxo

NACE GONZALES

Thanks Gelo for being a great friend and teammate for me during the 5 years we’ve played together. We both came into the team together as strangers to one another and we grew and eventually we were chosen to captain or team. We learned from each other and supported one another and that’s why we made a great captain pairing. You were my brother in arms and I wish you the best in the bright future you have!
