An Inning too Short

Lady Batter Judy Macatangay dives for home as she claims one of their runs.

The DLSU Lady Batters clashed against the UE softball team in a nail-biter that ended with UE winning 4-5. The game was held last February 6 at the Rizal Memorial Diamond.

The Lady batters struggled early with Badeth Benson anchoring the defense as pitcher. It did not help that the infield players could not properly catch and throw the ball to collect outs. As the errors piled up, so did the UE runs.

With the score at 5-0, Coach Alex Estipular subbed in sparkplug Lalaine Cunanan which allowed the Lady Batters to come within one run of tying the game at the bottom of the 6th inning. After the impressive 4-run inning, the softbelles from UE held on to stop La Salle’s momentum and clinch the win.

The Lady Batters now hold a 0-2 record. Catch them as they try to bounce back against xxx team on February 9, 1PM at the Rizal Memorial Diamond.
