_JGF1271The Green Archers recovered from their opening-day loss against UST with a dominating 96-84 victory against the rigid UP Fighting Maroons last July 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Jason Perkins scored 20 points, eight of which were in the last three minutes of the game that sealed the deal against the opposition. In addition, the Minnesota native also grabbed  ???

Furthermore, Jeron Teng notched 20 points while Almond Vosotros cashed in 15 points, nine of which coming from beyond the arc.

“Thankfully we got this win. We got our confidence back (before) coming to Ateneo game. Hopefully, we can sustain it,” remarked Teng.

The Green Archers were up by eight at the start of the last period. With the Maroons cutting the lead to four with a 7-3 stretch, the Archers answered back with their own run to take an 88-77 lead with only 4:27 left.

Former Green Archer Joseph Marata, who scored 21 points, tried to push the Fighting Maroons back in the game with his fifth triple made but Perkins slammed the door shut for good with his timely put-back shots. _JGF1301
