The UE Red Warriors was off to a good start as they opened the first quarter with Pasaol shooting beyond the arc and Varilla’s pull-up to lead 5-0 in the first minutes of the game. La Salle countered with their own 7-2 run as they tied the game 7 a-piece behind Baltazar jumper and Melecio firing from beyond the arc. The Green and White started to make noise as they made another 9-2 run, 16-9, DLSU ahead. At the end of first quarter, 21-14, DLSU.

Archer Serrano never gave up and fired back-to-back threes to give La Salle a 73-58 lead over the Warriors. The Warriors was slowly climbing back as they had a 14-9 run in the last minutes of the game.

Aljun Melecio’s thought on the last minutes of the game from the late scare of the Warriors, “I think, first of all di kami sanay na ganun yung lamang namin. Second is, umalis kami sa system kaya nagka-turnovers kami ng marami.”
