La Salle escapes UE in a convincing fashion
The DLSU Lady Spikers recorded its sixth straight win after drubbing the UE Lady Warriors in straight sets, 25-6, 25-16, and 25-11 earlier today at San Juan Arena.
In the first set, the Taft-based squad got an early lead as they delivered good attacks and a number of drop balls trailing UE behind and winning by 19 points, 25-6.
By the numbers, UE’s six point output in the second set was the lowest point production of any team for the past two season. Two of their six markers were from errors of DLSU.
In the second set, even with some reception errors, DLSU continued to dominate UE as they had several service aces as well as blocks to get a nine point set victory.
In the third set, it was the same story as the Lady Spikers had the upper hand in the game as they produced down the line hits coupled with a lot of service aces ending the match early at 25-11.
With that, DLSU improved its record with a 6-0 slate and will play their next game on Sunday, January 11. If Ateneo pulled-off their sixth consecutive win on Wednesday, it will be a battle of the undefeated teams in the finals rematch on Sunday.
