Lady Archers fall to hosts Lady Tams in opening game of UAAP 80

The arrows fell short as DLSU lost to the FEU Lady Tamaraws, 62-70, Sunday at the MOA Arena in their opening game of the UAAP Season 80.
The ladies from Taft had a slow start as they trailed the Lady Tams by double digits at the end of the first quarter 25-15. The Lady Archers kept up with the hosts as they were only outscored by a point in the 2nd quarter, finishing the half still down by double digits, 46-35.
The Green and White still wasn’t able to assert its dominance come the third period as FEU was able to extend their double digit lead, 58-43. Joehanna Arciga and Ana Castillo came to life in the final quarter where they cut the Lady Tams’ lead to six in the last minute but was unable to lift the Lady Archers through, ending the game at 70-62.
Castillo and Arciga both tallied double-doubles. Castillo finished with 21 points all from three-point territory with 14 rebounds, and 2 assists. Arciga, on the other hand, stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 10 rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal.
