Lady Spikers bounce back, swept Lady Warriors
The De La Salle Lady Spikers crushed the University of the East Red Warriors in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20, to get back on the winning track in the UAAP Season 80 Women’s Volleyball Tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center.
Throughout the game, the Lady Spikers played with their head held high as they delivered point after point that overwhelmed the Lady Warriors.
In the first set, the defending champions could not pull away from the Lady Warriors because of attack errors. However, the Taft-based squad quickly adjusted to end the set seven points ahead of their competitors.
The second set and third set were almost a mirror of the previous when identical mistakes were made from both sides of the court. Both teams exchanged points in the early moments of the second frame, but DLSU started to break away at the later part of the match, 25-17.
For the final set, the Lady Spikers lessened their errors as Desiree Cheng sealed the win.
At the end of the match, Aduke Ogunsanya reigned as the best player of the game with 12 points.
The Lady Spikers are still at second place, right behind NU with 4 wins and 1 loss.
Catch the DLSU Lady Spikers again on February 24 in the same venue as they face the Adamson Lady Falcons.
