Lady Spikers end beach volleyball stint in second after yielding to UST

The Lady Spikers failed to force a game four in the UAAP women’s beach volleyball finals as they dropped game three of the finals 21-15, 21-11.
DLSU’s Kim Fajardo and Cyd Demecillo had a strong start in the first set and at one point even led by six points but their offense stagnated which allowed UST’s Cherry Rondina and Rica Rivera to eventually take the lead and even pull away in the end of set.
In the second set, DLSU opted to replace Demecillo with UAAP season 75 MVP Ara Galang but the substitution did not help DLSU’s cause. It was evident that Galang was still not 100% as she was not able to receive the ball properly and also had a number of unforced errors. UST pounced on the errors DLSU committed and eventually won the championship.
The DLSU Lady Spikers ended their campaign in second place, an improvement from last year’s fourth place finish.
