ICYMI: Lady Woodpushers prevail; Green Woodpushers looking for answers

The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Woodpushers and Green Woodpushers went opposite ways against their opponents in the UAAP Season 81 Chess Tournament, last weekend, October 20 and October 21 at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.

The Lady Woodpushers finished the 11th and 12th round of the tournament with a victory as they dominated last weekend against the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Lady Tigresses last October 20 and against their archrival Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles last October 21 with the same result, scoring 4.0-0.0.

On the other hand, the Green Woodpushers still looking to find groove after tough match weekend against the National University (NU) Bulldogs with a score of 1.0-3.0. The Taft-based squad tried to notch a win but fell short against the Adamson University (AdU) Soaring Falcons on the 12th round as they ended the match with a score of 2.0-2.0.

After the 11th and 12th round, The Lady and Green Woodpushers are currently in first and eight position, respectively. They will return and continue to battle and pour their hearts out next weekend, October 27 at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.

 

ICYMI: Lady Woodpushers dominate; Green Woodpushers on the hunt

The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Woodpushers went victorious against the Adamson University Soaring Falcons (AdU) and tied their match versus the University of the East Lady Warriors while the Green Woodpushers succumbed to the University of the East Red Warriors (UE) in the UAAP Season 81 Chess Tournament, last weekend, October 6 and October 7 at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.

The Lady Woodpushers found their rhythm as they dominated the Women’s Chess Team of the Adamson Soaring Falcons with a score of 3.0-1.0. On the following day, the Lady Woodpushers finished the game against the University of the East scoring 2.0-2.0.

Meanwhile, The Green Woodpushers still striving for a win as they drop their back-to-back game against the University of the East Men’s Chess Team (UE) with the same result of 1.0-3.0.

After round 8 of the Chess Tournament, The Lady Woodpushers are the tournament’s leader finishing at 1st place scoring 20.5 with University of the Philippines coming 2nd with 20.0. On the other hand, the Green Woodpushers are currently in the 8th position.

 

Lady Woodpushers break out from slump; Green Woodpushers still looking for answers

The De La Salle University Green and Lady Woodpushers went opposite ways against the University of Santo Tomas (UST) after today’s match in the UAAP Season 81 Chess Tournament at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.

Coming from a back-to-back loss, The Lady Woodpushers were able to bounce back as they dominated the Women’s Chess Team of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) with a score of 4.0-0.0.

Meanwhile on the Men’s Tournament, The Green Woodpushers still find themselves yearning to get into the winning column as they succumbed to the Men’s Chess Team of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) with a score of 1.5-2.5

Nevertheless, DLSU Woodpushers Head Coach Susan Grace Neri still believes in her team’s dedication.  “Just heart”, Coach Neri exclaimed their motivation for the next few games. “Our motivation is just to pour out our hearts as true Lasallian athletes.”

The Green and Lady Woodpushers will continue to battle and pour their hearts out as they will be facing the Adamson University (AdU) and the National University (NU), respectively, on Sunday, September 30, 1-5pm, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.

DLSU Woodpushers still looking to find groove after tough match day

The De La Salle University Green and Lady Woodpushers still searching for their rhythm as both teams suffer a tough loss against the Far Eastern University (FEU) and University of East (UE), respectively, in the UAAP Season 81 Chess Tournament at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion, earlier today.

Starting with a 2-0 winning streak, The Lady Woodpushers found themselves on a back-to-back losing streak as they drop their game against the Women’s Chess Team of the University of the East (UE) with a score of 1.5-2.5

On the other hand, The Green Woodpushers still looking to find their groove and first win of the season as they were dominated by the Men’s Chess Team of the Far Eastern University (FEU), with a score of 0-4.0.

The Green and Lady Woodpushers aim to bounce back from a tough loss as both teams will go up against the University of Santo Tomas (UST) on Saturday, September 29, 1-5pm, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion

DLSU Woodpushers emerge victorious against opponents to stay on top

The De La Salle University Green and Lady Woodpushers dominated the UAAP Season 80 Chess Tournament last Saturday and Sunday at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.

On Saturday, Giovanni Mejia and Christian Nañola won their matches against UE to give La Salle two points. On the other hand, Denzel Amar and Kline Surposa each had deadlocks with their opponents, 1.0-1.0. In total, La Salle triumphed over UE, 3.0-1.0.

On Sunday, Nañola won his match to give the Green and White a 2.0-0.0 lead against UST. However, Mejia and Surposa were not able to capitalize with total of just 1.0. La Salle and UST figured in a draw as the matches ended with scores of 2.0-2.0.

Lady Woodpushers

On Saturday, Bernadette Galas, Marie San Diego, Grace Moulic, and Kyla Camacho all outshined their opponents. The La Salle quadruple each won their matches to sweep Adamson, 4.0-0.0.

On Sunday, Galas, San Diego, and Moulic carried their momentum to earn another win. They defeated UP, 3.0-1.0.

After seven matches apiece, the DLSU Green and Lady Woodpushers remained at second and first place with records of 4W-2D-1L and 6W-1D-0L, respectively.
